Professor Johanna Fink-Gremmels

Professor Johanna Fink-Gremmels obtained her degree in veterinary medicine from the Veterinary School in Hannover (Germany) and qualified as lecturer and specialist in Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology at the same University. In 1991 she was appointed as a professor by the University of Utrecht, were she now chairs the Division of Veterinary Pharmacology, Pharmacotherapy and Toxicology within the Institute for Risk Assessment Sciences (IRAS).

Within her main research interests are mechanisms of inflammation, antibiotics and biofilms and toxicological risk assessment of feed and food contaminants. Prof. Fink-Gremmels obtained various academic distinctions and serves on several national and international organizations, among others the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA – CONTAM Panel).
